JOBSHAC (Jobs in Health and Social Care) helps Newham resident’s access permanent employment within the local NHS. It is situated in the ground of Newham University Hospital and interested people can drop in, or phone to make an appointment. Clients referred from local Job Centres are seen on a regular basis.

The Jobshac team has an NHS Liaison Officer who works with hospital managers promoting 'local jobs for local people'. Other members of the team give one-one assistance to job seekers, advising on appropriate vacancies, how to complete the application forms, mock interviews, relevant pre-employment training, etc.

Vacancies targeted include administrators, healthcare assistance, housekeepers, receptionists, secretaries drivers and porters.

Jobshac manages vacancies for, Newham University Hospital, Homerton University Hospital, Newham and Tower Hamlets PCT, East London and the City Mental Health Trust. Since January 2005 we have placed 73 clients into sustainable employment.
