London lone parents’ choices around work and care

While employment is generally the best way for families to escape poverty, returning to work can often come at a significant cost to London’s lone parents.

This is the key message from new research released by the London Child Poverty Commission which highlights the complexities and range of factors involved for lone parents making a decision about returning to work.

‘London lone parents’ choices around work and care’ is based on a series of focus groups with working and non-working lone parents conducted by the charity One Parent Families|Gingerbread.
